On September 10th, East Haddam Land Trust (EHLT) opened the Saunders Preserve to the public. The 69-acre property is located in the southern area of East Haddam and will protect areas of geological interest along with high-priority watersheds. EHLT was able to acquire the preserve from the family of John and Diana Saunders through donations from supporters as well as funding from the following: DEEP’s Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Grant Program, CLCC Transaction Assistance Grant Program, and the Eightmile River Coordinating Committee…
