Join Woodbridge Park Association (WPA), one of Connecticut’s oldest land trusts, and the Connecticut Conservation Council (CLCC) for a tour of a climate-smart land stewardship project at WPA’s Alice Newton Street Memorial Park. 

The Alice Newton Street Memorial Park offers 100 acres of protected forest, streams, and wetlands right in the heart of Woodbridge. This vibrant landscape provides easy access for walkers of all ages to explore diverse habitats and local wildlife while serving as a critical site for a Climate-Smart Land Stewardship project.

To provide expert insight, our walk will be led by professional foresters who will demonstrate how climate-smart forestry and invasive species control are being used to bolster forest health and climate mitigation. This project serves as an experimental living laboratory to test strategies for controlling diseased beech trees, offering a unique opportunity for officials to learn about scalable forest management solutions that can be shared with property owners across the state to ensure the long-term resilience of our natural canopy.
