Accessing Federal Funding through Collaboration

Room: Boger 114
Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

Unprecedented federal investments through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) have unlocked extraordinary levels of funding available for conservation projects. While exciting, the volume and complexity of these opportunities can be overwhelming, especially because the applications are nationally competitive, and the scope of work is often large-scale. Our workshop, Accessing Federal Funding through Collaboration, will feature a facilitated panel and open forum focused on sharing insights and strategies for securing federal funding for conservation initiatives in CT. In the workshop, we would like to cultivate an open dialogue around approaches for getting projects to scale (e.g., collaboration, bundling, cross-sector, co-benefits). Additionally, we will discuss the capacity needed to manage these projects and how we can continue to accelerate and sustain conservation efforts after BIL and IRA. The target audience for this workshop includes organizations looking to access public funds, conservation practitioners, and decision-makers.
