Long Island Sound Coastal Restoration Coalition
Climate change threatens our coastal habitat, ecosystems that play a critical role in protecting people and wildlife. Local environmental partners are working to protect these habitats through restoration. Partners have traditionally conducted this work in a siloed, reactive manner. In 2024, Audubon CT/NY, Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, The Nature Conservancy, Ducks Unlimited, Save the Sound, Sound Waters, Citizens Campaign for the Environment, and the CT National Estuarine Research Reserve aimed to change this process and formed the Long Island Sound Coastal Restoration Coalition. This workshop will discuss Coalition goals, restoration practices, and brainstorm how attendees might leverage Coalition work/partners.
