Protecting the Wildlife in Your Woodlands

Room: Memorial Chapel
Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

Once a parcel is acquired, what is the best course of action for protecting the plants and animals who call that land home? Thousands of species can exist on a protected parcel of land, and a property that is teeming with wildlife will be a benefit to human health. But how do we keep that wildlife from disappearing? This workshop will cover tools and procedures for assessing wildlife and habitat features, and for providing public access while conserving the most important natural resources.

Presenter(s)

Jane Seymour, Wildlife Biologist, CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP)

Dan Carmody, Preserve Steward, Aspetuck Land Trust
