Soil as Infrastructure: Healthy Soils as the Foundation of Nature-Based Climate Solutions Across All Landscapes
Healthy soil is a living structure that stores water and carbon, cycles nutrients, and resists erosion so plants, animals, and people can thrive. Yet soils are often invisible in climate and resilience planning. This interactive session shows how soil health is both foundation and nature-based solution in forests, farms, wetlands, and cities. We introduce what healthy soil looks like and how it supports carbon sequestration, water management, and biodiversity. A panel from agricultural, forest, wetland, and urban/green infrastructure settings shares how core principles apply across landscapes. Participants leave with concrete practices, stakeholder language, and climate resilience tools.
