Community Planner
Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments

Emely Ricci is a Community Planner at the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments. As a community planner she provides technical and capacity support, assists in developing regional and municipal comprehensive planning, and ensures the region’s municipalities are informed of new federal and state policy. She is a 2023 Graduate of UConn’s Masters in Public Administration program. Emely’s educational and cultural background have instilled a deep sense of community, public service, and advocacy in her professional career, leading her to serve the 19 municipalities in the Naugatuck Valley through commissioner trainings, Land Use Briefs, assistance in Plans of Conservation and Development, and more. Her current focus is the Open Space Inventory project; a project looking at open space in the region with a long-term goal to create a regional Open Space Plan. She is a member of the Latino Outdoors Connecticut chapter, where she co-leads outdoor excursions with the Latino community and friends; providing opportunities to the community to connect and explore the natural surroundings. She hopes to continue serve her region, as well as continue her personal interests in the environment, accessible recreation to all, and creative pursuits.
